What Readers Say About PGS:
"I'm very glad you do this… However, I must admit that looking at your site is a little like picking at a scab.
No—more like stabbing at an old scar or playing baseball with a phantom limb but actually hitting with the stump."

This is your cartoonist at age 12 or so. No, I did not shoplift Bubble Yum. These were taken at my orthodontist’s office prior to being fitted with braces. I was as miserable as I looked.

My teeth got straight, but memories of those days never left me. And they were never far from the minds of my friends, either. So over ten years ago I began this strip and solicited stories from both my friends and total strangers. I may not be the best cartoonist in the world, but I can draw a mean cheap sneaker.

I love the response my strip has received and I thank everyone who has submitted a story. I must admit that your stories really get to me sometimes. They shouldn’t, but they do. That girl in those mug shots is never too far away.
